TYPHOON LAGOON’S FIRST #DISNEYH2OGLOW NIGHT EVER!
When I received an invitation to experience Disney’s first H2O Glow Night at Typhoon Lagoon, I was excited because:
- It meant that we would be swimming at night, at a Disney Park and possibly glow!
- It’s something new for my children to experience.
While we’ve been to Typhoon Lagoon before, the #DisneyH2OGlow Night was a new summer attraction at this water park. H2O Glow nights will be held on selected nights from June 21 to Aug. 11, 2018 (Thursday & Saturday). It was great to be there on the very first night, so I can tell you what to expect!
Our #DisneyH2OGlow Night Experience
When we arrived, we received our wristbands for the evening and was then directed to a special area for bloggers/media. During our wait time, they had a game area for the children, which kept my 5-year-old busy.
Once everyone (bloggers/media) arrived, we got a tour of the park and a meet and greet with the Water Parks General Manager, Mark Dukes. He said shared with us what’s new at during H2O Glow nights.
We were able to take some fun shots and then taste some of the exclusive food created especially for H2O Glow Nights. I actually met the Disney Chef Hal Taylor, who shared some new additions to the TL menu like Salmon and Cuban sandwiches! Yum!
Once our tour and dining experience was complete, we were free to enjoy the park. We found a seat on the sand to park our things and then headed to the lazy river.
I wish I had a camera that was waterproof because my kids had a blast. I had to remind them that it’s a lazy river and to settle down, “We’re not in here alone!”
“We don’t want to get on the water slides!” my kids told me twice. I was so surprised because they love water slides. However, after the lazy river, they wanted to dance. You could hear the DJ blasting the music from the beach party from all over the island.
My children are dancing machines (like their mom) so once we arrived in front of the DJ, that’s where we stayed for most of the night. I had so much fun dancing and acting silly with my children. We wobbled, did the macarena, hula hooped and more. I showed it all on my IG stories.
The last 30 minutes, they finally said, “Mom, it’s time for the wave pool!” If you’ve never been to Typhoon Lagon, the wave agrees with the name of the park. The wave is HUUGGEE and will knock you over if try to fight against it. I let my two older children go a little farther into the wave pool, while I stayed back with my 5-year-old.

11 pm arrived quicker than I wanted it too, but we had a lot of fun. I would definitely go back and bring the hubby next time. He couldn’t go because he hurt his Achilles and he’s on crutches. When I go back, I’m riding all of the slides and still get my dance on!
Disney H20 Glow Nights Info & Cost
Disney is taking full advantage of the long summer days by creating H2O Glow nights inspired by the Disney-Pixar Toy Story short film “Partysaurus Rex.” Glow Nights are held Thursday and Saturday nights from June 21 to Aug. 11, 2018, from 8 pm – 11 pm. You have to buy a separate ticket to attend H20 Glow Nights and the party is not included in daytime admission. You can arrive as early as 7 pm. Tickets cost $55 for adults and $50 (plus tax) for children ages 3-9 (children under 3 are free).
H2O Glow nights are Pixar-themed, so you’re going to see characters, like Buzz Lightyear, Woody, and Jessie around the park and party!

H2O Glow Night Benefits
Your Magicbands work! Disney is known for having photographers around the parks, so this makes it easy to see your pictures on theMyDisneyExperience app. If you don’t wear it, you will be given a card to see them later.
If you can get to the park by 7 pm, you can beat the crowd. Arriving earlier will allow you to get a great section for seating. The main crowd will be leaving, so you’ll have your pick.
It’s a family park, but they have an over 21 section. If you visit The Wharf, try the signature libations such as Fred’s Purple Siren.
Smaller crowds mean more fun! Although this is a Disney park, evening events mean fewer people. Fewer people means shorter lines for rides. Take advantage of that and ride things multiple times!
Oh! And free parking!
