Meet Bernetta Knighten

Hi, I’m Bernetta—a Certified Breakthrough Life Coach, Transformational Speaker, and founder of The Knighten Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting teens aging out of foster care. Through this work, we provide brand-new suitcases filled with everyday essentials and resources to help young adults transition into independent living with dignity and confidence. I truly believe in the power of kindness, and it’s the foundation of everything I do.

As a proud graduate of Alabama State University, where I earned my degree in Marketing and was honored with the 50 Under 50 Award in 2023, I’ve always been driven by a passion to create meaningful impact. In 2024, I was deeply honored to receive an invitation to the White House in recognition of my work with the foster care community—an unforgettable milestone in my journey.

Originally from Evanston, Illinois, I spent years building my life and career in Atlanta before relocating with my family to Tampa, Florida in 2016. Now, we get to enjoy year-round sunshine, the beach, and the incredible experiences this beautiful area has to offer.

Alongside my speaking and non-profit work, I’m the creator of BernettaStyle.com, a lifestyle platform that’s been inspiring readers for over 15 years through content focused on Family, Finances, Fitness, and Faith. I’ve been fortunate to collaborate with incredible brands like Disney, Steve Harvey, Home Depot, and more. I also previously hosted the Dream Girl, Dream! Podcast, where I helped empower women to design actionable blueprints and pursue the life they desire.

In addition to writing and publishing four books available on Amazon, I’m also a profitable futures trader, which has allowed me to expand my knowledge of financial growth and wealth-building.

When I’m not working, you can find me spending time with my husband of 22 years, Earl, and our three amazing children. We stay busy with entrepreneurship, track, jiu-jitsu, and supporting each other’s dreams every step of the way. I also love working out, traveling, writing, and finding inspiration in books that push me to grow.
