SUPER MODEL EMME HOST MACY’S FALL FASHION SHOW {RECAP} #MACYEVENTS @SHESPEAKSUP
Who doesn’t love a fashion show? Who doesn’t love to be “in the know” of what’s coming in terms of trends, colors and patterns? Maybe someone who doesn’t love FASHION!! I am glad that’s not me.
Last week, Macy’s in Lenox Mall presented a Fall Fashion show hosted by Emme, the first plus size model. I honestly feel uncomfortable saying “Plus Size” because when you see her, she is too fab and I don’t see “PLUS” at all.
The fashion show was open to all, but if you were lucky (and got there early) – seats were available. I love that all my blogging buddies were on the front row!
I spy Yolanda, Maria, Ashley, Nikki and Marie right there doing what bloggers do – tweeting, Facebooking (is that a word?) and IG post! We love this stuff!
The show allowed us to see what’s coming this current Fall season, which happens to be what I already love – Leopard prints! I will wear leopard pants, shirts and shoes – but not all at the same time. So, I am glad to see that is going to be a Fall favorite because that just means, new designs will be coming soon from some of the top Macy’s designers like, Michael Kors, Jessica Simpson, and INC Internationals Concepts.
Some of the other fashion trends to look out for will be Dresses; Wrap dresses & sweater dresses! I am a dress person! I love them no matter the season. Also, look out for ankle boots, skirts and a new twist on skinny jeans.
And the cutest part of the evening was when my friend Joyce’s son ran on stage to give his mom a supportive hug!! Gotta love the kids! It was a social media favorite on Friday night!
After the fashion show, there was a panel discussion on fashion and what does being Plus Size mean to them. Emme shared earlier that she loved that more designers are catering toward curvier women. It allows women of all sizes to celebrate themselves. Plus size women should not be subject to certain trends but open to all the possibilities.
I love that Macy’s host these types of events and hope to see more like these in the near future. It allows the consumer to actually connect with the brands they know and love. When someone like Emme comes out and talks to us, it let’s us see that although she is a celebrity – she’s real just like us.
