3 Simple Reasons I Enjoyed Sesame Street Live!

It’s not always easy to keep young children entertained. They usually like what they like. In my case, my youngest child, who is 5 years old, still enjoys a good episode of Sesame Street.

When I was his age, Sesame Street was always on. I knew all of the characters and learned some amazing lessons that I’m sure I still use today.

One of the songs I still sing from the show is “One of these kids is doing their own thing!”. Also, who could forget the # song? “1-2-3-4-5, 6-7-8-9-10,11-12!”? I still sing that too. 

Over the years, Sesame Street has gone through some changes, but the heart of the show still remains. It’s rare that as a parent you get to experience something so life-changing as a child, and your children get to experience the same thing. 

All three of my children went through their Sesame Street phase and now it’s my youngest turn. When I was given the opportunity to let him experience Sesame Street Live in Tampa, it was a super fast easy yes! 

Sesame Street Live brings the stage to life in an engaging show. There’s a magician that comes to town to do a magic show for the Sesame Street friends and Elmo wants to help. The only problem is, Elmo can’t do magic.

Throughout the show, different things happen and by the end, Elmo learns that you can do anything you believe you can. You just have to keep trying. 

3 Reasons I Enjoyed Sesame Street Live: 

  1. They learned valuable lessons. It’s more than just singing songs and making us laugh. It’s about learning why we do the things we do. My child walked away understanding about choices and the importance of always trying his best. 
  2. Keeps the attention of the children! The arena was packed with babies and small children. When the characters were on the stage, everyone was glued to their performance. The characters asked questions and even came off the stage to interact with the kids. I think we were always waiting for what was coming next so we could participate.
  3. Affordable fun. For $15 a ticket, it’s a great price for a professional show with familiar faces we all know and love. It’s a price that will not break the bank and everyone in the house could come and leave with smiles. 

We didn’t get to meet any of the characters but certain cities do have a character meet and greet. Here in Tampa, shows were at the Yuling Center and in St. Petersburg’s Duke Energy Center for the Arts.
