How often do you and your husband get away alone? Beaches Turks & Caicos
My husband and I were invited to the Social Media on the Sand conference in Turks & Caicos at the all-inclusive Beaches Resort. Beaches Resorts are known for being an amazing family destination, however, my husband and I decided to leave our children at home.We recently celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary and looked at this trip as the perfect way to commemorate it. We wanted to experience this place first and do all the adult type things and bring the kids back next year.
There were quite a few first on this trip for me:
- All inclusive resort
- Turks and Caicos via plane (I visited Turks via a cruise, but it’s not the same.)
- Parasailing
My Top 5 Unforgettable Moments at Beaches Turks & Caicos
Bucket List Type of Things!
My husband and I parasailed for the first time. I was so nervous, but I’m glad we did it together because that made it more enjoyable. Just hit the image to see the 1-minute video.
The Bluest Beach!
I always love seeing people on a beach with the famous white sand and bluest water. Now I get a chance to take my own picture! The Turks beach was voted the World’s #1 Best Beach by TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice awards.
The beaches were breathtaking and equipt with chairs, cabanas, and even water floaties. We stayed there for hours enjoying ourselves.
On our first day, we nestled in a cabana on the water to eat and then played in the water like big kids! The Jerk shack was right on the water. We enjoyed jerk chicken, jerk fish, and the jerk pork.
Food . . . ooooh the food!
Beaches Turks & Caicos resort has 21 specialty restaurants and 15 bars serving unlimited drinks. My husband mapped out a list of restaurants he wanted to try for our trip. I went along for the ride. There were a few places we went back to twice. That’s just how good the food is.
Just Relaxing and Doing Nothing!
We live in a go.go.go world where busy is expected. It was great to sit and just be in the moment. To be present in the now with no phones (well, to take a few pics), no calls, and no kids (just being honest).
We really got to rejuvenate our mind and body. I promise we could have easily stayed 18 more days on this island.
Spending Time with Friends in Paradise!
In addition to being there to enjoy time with my hubby, I was also there to attend a conference. I’ll share more about that conference in the next post because that experience was nothing short of jaw-dropping amazingness!
Over the years, blogging friends have become real friends. While we all don’t live in the same city, when we get together its always a reunion!
On our first night arriving on the island, we all took a boat ride on a catamaran. If you could have been a fly on the wall! We certainly danced and laughed too much! I have video too! Stay tuned.
I’m telling you, we’re going back. Although we were there for 5 days, I’m writing another post about all the things we didn’t get to do. Beaches Turks & Caicos has 4 villages:
- French (where we stayed)
- Italian
- Carribean
- Key West
There is so much to see and do. You really have to make more than one trip to experience it all. Have you ever been to a Beaches Resort?
