3 Reasons Why Mother Daughter Time is Important from a 9 Year Olds Perspective

I have 3 children. My daughter is the only girl and middle child, so I make sure that she gets her one on one time. I have my own reasons why I think Mother Daughter time is important, but it’s eye opening to hear her perspective.

Here are my 3 reasons my Mother Daughter time is important:

1. Time is limited with your children. You don’t have all the time in the world to spend with them. You have 18-21 good years before they are off to explore the world. That is precious time you can’t get back.
2. Be intentional with your special moments. Of course we spend time with our children when we are taking them to school, eating dinner or going to a store. However, when you intentionally spend time with them, you’re listening to their wants, needs and desires. You have put down your phone to actually be present in your time with them. You are purposely trying to teach them lessons and experiences. These are the big moments they remember and shape them forever.
3. Your child’s Love Language. A few years ago, I read the book Love Language for children when my son was acting up. I also remember learning about my daughters love language. When you understand how your children receive and view love, you can go about things differently.
