Marco’s Pizza Introduces Grilled Chicken Florentine Pizza

Every once in a while, mommies (& daddies) want a break from cooking. Well, Friday afternoon we had parent-teacher conferences for our oldest two children. Afterward, my husband and I both wanted another option for dinner. Marco’s “Ah!thentic Italian Pizza” was top on our list.

Marco’s Pizza is a combination of Italian and Mediterranean flavors! I was given passes to try their new Grilled Chicken Florentine Pizza and this was the perfect day for it. It’s made with tender grilled chicken, parmesan garlic sauce, four cheeses, fresh spinach and sliced tomatoes, with chopped red onions on dough made daily.

Marco’s introduced this pizza on March 24th, right in time to celebrate National Spinach Day. They’re now adding fresh Spinach Pizza to their menu in addition to new chicken pizza specialities. Pizza CollageMushrooms and Spinach are my favorite toppings on a pizza, so I was delighted to learn I could try a Spinach & Cheese too! As you see in the picture, I added Mushrooms to mine. I couldn’t help it. What’s with all this Spinach you ask? Well, March 26 was National Spinach Day! I didn’t know Spinach was actually celebrated but you learn something new everyday. I eat spinach on pizza every chance I get, in my salads and blended in my smoothies!

Benefits of Spinach:

  • Good Source of Omega 3 Fatty Acids:
  • Loaded with Vitamins: A, K, D & E
  • Anti-Cancer and Anti-Inflammatory Antioxidants
  • Strengthens the Bones:
  • Nourishes the Eyes

family pizzaWhen the pizza came to our table, we were all ready to grab and devour! It smelled so good. We opened the boxes and whalaaa – two totally different pizzas with two different taste.  The Grilled Chicken Florentine Pizza was very good. My husband and children immediately chose that pizza to eat first!

That’s fine, because that left the Spinach and Mushroom pizza made with a three cheese blend of fresh never frozen cheese on fresh never-frozen dough made daily all too myself. Until, they were ready to give it try of course.3 me pizzaMarco’s Pizza founder Pasquale “Pat” Giammarco moved to the U.S. from Italy when he was nine years old and grew up working in his family’s pizzeria. The first Marco’s Pizza store opened in Toledo in 1978. Today, there are more than 470 franchised and company-managed Marco’s Pizza stores.More than 1500 new Marco’s locations are on their way, which means the company will quadruple its store count in the next few years.

Pizza CollageOH! One more thing, I love the quote on their mug in the first picture! Marco’s pizza is SO MUCH BETTER THAN A $5 PIZZA!!! If you know what I mean!

My Baby Isn’t Walking At 13 Months : Motherhood Monday

My typical conversation when people see Emory lately …

Them: He’s so cute, is your son walking?

Me: No.

Them: Oh. (Then I get a gentle smile, as they try to comfort me.) It’s ok, he will walk soon.

My son is now 13 months and isn’t fully walking yet. I was actually ok with it. My daughter walked at 11 months and my oldest son walked at 13 months, so if Emory did the same I was fine. What is not fine is the disappointing looks people give you when they find out your son is 1 or shall I say 12 months and not walking. My baby isn’t walking. Continue Reading

Mary Mary season 3 debuts on WeTV Thursday, February 27 at 9pm! Don’t worry, Scandal comes on at 10!!

Mary Mary Logo White backgroundLast week, WeTV along with Erica and Tina Campbell of Mary Mary premiered the first episode of their 3rd season of MARY MARY at Word of Faith’s Riverside Epicenter in Atlanta, Ga. and spoke about the upcoming season and what we can expect. Let’s just say, they keep it all the way real! I love that these women are Christian singers, and live what they sing. It’s not just a show or a game, but this is real life. They let the cameras show some very uncomfortable things that allow US, the viewer to see that everything is not always glitter and gold just because you sing about Jesus!! Life happens to us all. Girl Scouts & 5 Skills They Learn : Motherhood Monday

I have a daughter who I would like to join this organization. When I was a young child, it was never presented to me as an option but I now see what I missed too! Honestly, because my daughter was so young the Girl Scouts only appeared to me when it was Cookie Selling time. Now that my daughter is old enough to participate, I see Girl Scouts everywhere as if it’s a sign! I know, I am deep! Hahaha!!

PicMonkey CollageI learned today at the Official Girl Scouts Press Conference in Atlanta, that they do more than sell cookies. The Girl Scout Cookie program is the largest girl-led financial literacy program in the world.

Through Girl Scouting, girls build courage, confidence and character, become leaders in their daily lives and prepare for their bright futures! Girl Scout Product Programs, such as the Girl Scout Cookie Program, provide important ingredients for leadership by helping girls develop five key life skills.

The 5 Skills Girls Learn:

  1. Goal Setting – Girls learn set goals
  2. Decision Making – Girls learn Smart Decisions
  3. Money Management – Girls learn how to manage money
  4. People Skills – Girls learn to interact with people more confidently
  5. Business Ethics – Girls learn how to run a business the right way.

These are a few of their most popular cookies! Yum! I love me some Thin Mints! If you look below, you can see these cookies don’t have the added artificial chemical and preservatives that so many worry about.cookie infoFacts & Statistics

  • Girls sell more than 200 million cookie packages a year to more than 50 million cookie customers
  • There is a direct correlation between women business leaders and Girl Scouts – 80 percent of women business owners, 69 percent of female U.S. Senators, 67 percent of female members of the House of Representatives were Girl Scouts and virtually every female astronaut who has flown in space was also a Girl Scout.
  • Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta anticipates selling 4.3 million boxes of Girl Scouts Cookies between now and Mid-March.
  • 85% of girls developed money management skills: developing budgets, taking cookie orders and handling customers’ money.
  • 77% of girls developed the decision-making skills: learning how to work as a team to develop a basic business plan, deciding when and where to sell cookies and reaching agreements on what to do with the money they earned.

Motherhood Monday : Cows Milk versus Almond Milk

It is almost that time! My baby will be 1 next week. Can you believe it? Well, that means that I am going to have to switch from formula to Cows Milk (Whole Milk). With my other two children, we did the switch with no problem and after they both turned two, we went back to 2%.

Untitled 1

Fast forward 6 years later, we no longer drink cows milk in our house. We don’t drink a lot of milk period, but we do buy Almond Milk for our milk needs. Now we have our baby about to turn 1 and the dilemma is bothering me. Do I feed him cows milk or can he drink Almond milk. I googled it too, but the answers are so conflicting! Continue Reading

2 Inches of Snow That Made Atlanta Stand Still

I have lived in the Atlanta area since 1999 and have never seen such a weather traffic nightmare like this. I have been through at least 3 major snow storms since living here but the horror stories were never like this – but there also weren’t social media outlets to share the experiences either. Who knew 2 inches of snow could bring down a city! My small story is nothing compared to what I have read and seen on social media and television.

My Story: At 6am, Tuesday morning I woke up to check and see if my children’s school was closed. NOPE. NOTHING. So my husband got up to get them ready and I took them to school, then headed to work. Around 10am, I looked out of my window and cars were covered with a light dusting of snow. At 10:30am we received an email from our children’s school telling us they are releasing early at 12:45pm. My daughters teacher called me at 11am to tell me I can actually come now to pick my children up. Unfortunately, my job wouldn’t release us until noon. The great thing is that I work a few blocks from their school. I left about 11:50am and was there at 12 o’clock on the dot. After getting my children, we headed to the post office (I had to mail something). I then went around the corner to surprise them with lunch at Moe’s! We got it go, but that’s when our long haul home began! Continue Reading

Motherhood Monday : 100th Day of School Project (Link Up)

Do your children ever have those projects that YOU end up doing? This was almost that type of project but I made sure my daughter did most of her own work. I used to worry with my oldest child that if he did the project alone, it wouldn’t look “Good Enough!” so I would just have to help. There I go comparing to the other kids, whose parents probably helped too. So, no more! The teachers know when kids do a project by themselves and when the parents have a creative hand it in.
