My Official Tampa Bay’s Morning Blend Debut

Tampa Bays Morning Blend

It always amazes me that you can see something, really desire to have it – then it manifest.

That’s what happened to me with the Tampa Bay’s Morning Blend. When I moved to Florida from Atlanta, it was a brand new show here in my area. It is a show that airs in the 10 surrounding counties that share local businesses and how they benefit you and the community.

I wanted to be on this show.

The only thing was, I didn’t know what I would do on this show. What would I talk about? I pitched the show about a back to school segment but I never heard back. I then pitched them again about vision boards, but again crickets.

When I started working for my current company, that’s when I learned that the companies that appear on Tampa Bay’s Morning Blend actually pay to be on the show. It’s paid advertising. Very Smart.

Well, my new employer had a desire to be featured on this show and I made it happen my second week there. After talking with their an account executive, we then signed a 12-month contract with Tampa Bay’s Morning Blend. What that means is, we will now be on the show at least once a month until December 2018.

We’ve done 2 segments so far. For the first segment, the show came to our working warehouse and the owners shared the story of how the company started. I modeled our product. The second segment, I actually sat on the couch to talk about the product, our open house and moderate a fashion show.

As I watched myself on TV when it aired, my mouth dropped. I actually wanted to be on this show and it has actually happened. I had no idea that it would take me getting a new job for it to manifest. However, we can’t always control the “how”.

For the next 12 months, I will be involved in some shape or form with my company’s segments. Our next taping is January 23rd as we do a couples segment showcasing our men’s products and my husband is going to be a model.

Lesson: If you want to do something and it doesn’t work out for you when you try the first time, it doesn’t mean it won’t happen. Sometimes when it does happen, it’s a better experience for you.

Has this ever happened to you? Meaning, you wanted something but it came to you a different way than you expected.
