Blue Angels Fly into Atlanta for the Georgia Air Show

The Great Georgia Air Show is the Southeast’s premier air show in Peachtree City, with some of the worlds most skilled aviators. This year will be even more special as the Blue Angels will perform for the first time in 5 years, flying FA-18 planes at a speed of 1,190 mph.

Now call me out of touch, but I had no idea who the Blue Angels were, after some research I learned:

The Blue Angels is the United States Navy‘s flight demonstration squadron, with aviators from the Navy and Marines. The Blue Angels team was formed in 1946, making it the second oldest formal flying aerobatic team (under the same name) in the world, after the French Patrouille de France formed in 1931.

I was trying to take a periscope of the Blue Angels arriving, but I was running my mouth and missed the grand entrance. I was able to get them coming in one by one!

Media Day Fun!

Today, I along with two other fabulous bloggers, Ashley (of Mommyweek.com) & Latocia (of Luxetips.com) were invited to attend Media Day for The Great Georgia Air Show by Meredith (PRecise Communications).

We were able to see first hand & up close the Blue Angels arrive and take care of their planes. It was also great to see female pilots and crew making big things happen. Here we are pictured above with Pilot Caption Katie Higgins.

There were so many cool and authentic looking planes at this event. If you love modern design mixed with a historical feel, you will love all of these planes.

I can’t end this post without showing you a picture of me and the ladies right before we took off in this HUGE monster truck! We sat down and of course buckled up, and held on for dear life. The driver did what felt like donuts while we screamed and held on to our hats and handles! It felt just like a roller coaster ride. It was so much fun!

We were supposed to take a helicopter ride but the fog was too low today. Safefy first, right.

Have you ever been to the Georgia Air Show? What is your favorite part?
