My husband and I recently celebrated our 11th Wedding Anniversary over the weekend. I actually stopped him in his tracks and said, “Look.” We stopped and looked at our older daughter dancing in my room. My 1 year old was grabbing my legs and making sweet baby noises. My oldest son was getting ready for flag football. My husband and I were standing next to each other, still loving one another but still in awe of what we have created together over the years. We were in a happy place and still ready to face the world as a team.
Though out August and September my Facebook timeline is filled with birthdays and anniversaries. It’s overwhelming but it’s also refreshing to see so many people in love and sharing it with the world. For me, it’s a blessing and a milestone to make it to another anniversary every year and still be happy with your marriage.
Married for many years doesn’t always equate to happily married. After 11 years of being married, my husband still makes it his business to make sure I am happy and smiling. I love him for that.
Has every year been a piece of cake? Absolutely not! We just keep pressing.
I have learned over the years, that what works in my marriage won’t work in Mr. & Mrs. ABC. I wanted to share 11 things that make our marriage work.
Religious beliefs
My husband and I actually met at church. We did the googly eye thing for about 6 months before he finally said hello to me. We are Christians and having the same religious beliefs makes our life easier. We go to church as a family, pray together and raise our children with Christian beliefs. I love that my husband loves the Lord. He doesn't deny God, but instead lives with integrity and believes he was called to serve.

September 24, 2014 at 1:37 amHappy Anniversary! Keeping people out of your business is so important. They stressed that like crazy in marriage prep.
Keeping God in the center does so much to keep a marriage together. 🙂
