Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Opens 08/08/14 {Review} #TMNTMovie

Last week my son and I were lucky enough to see a screening of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I turned it into a surprise Mommy and Son date night. He didn’t know where we were going until we pulled into the theater.

On our way there we talked about movies and I joked that I had passes to see the Ninja Turtles movie but turned them down because I didn’t think he would want to see them. He said, “Mom are you crazy? OMG, I want to see the Ninja Turtles so bad!”

Once he said that, I knew he would be super happy when he found out where he was going.

Of course he found out and was all smiles. He talked all throughout the movie too, figuring out the plot, telling me who was the bad guy and repeating jokes that the turtles made during the movie.

I asked him did he enjoy his surprise, and his response was, “Mom, I LOVED it!” Now I don’t hear the word LOVED too often (unless he is saying I love you) about things, but he even asked to see it again.

What did he like about the movie? The action of course! There was a lot of fighting, but for him it was cool because of the tricks and moves they did. Also, one of the Ninja Turtles had a crush on a girl in the movie, and that tickled my son. Probably because he has crushes on girls now too. #prayforme

What did I like about the movie? I like that I laughed out loud. I initially thought this would be a entertaining movie for my son, but I found myself laughing at jokes (the turtles were the funniest), worrying about the main character and rooting for the turtles to make it out alive. I like that the TMNT displayed brotherhood and showed that family must stick together.

The scene above had the movie theatre bumping their heads to the beat! I only wish they would have busted a cool rhyme!

We give it too thumbs up!

How cute! We actually took our girls to see it Friday night and they really enjoyed it. I was a little skeptical about it thinking they would like it but they were really into it and watched it all the way through with no issues. It was really cute to me, of course having grown up watching the cartoon of it every so often as a kid. It was nice to see it in movie form.
