This past Saturday I learned two new things; how the Elf on the Shelf tradition was started and the how the new Elf on the Shelf Birthday tradition works.
For the last few years, I would see the Elf in my Facebook & IG timelines doing funny things. The children would always appear amazed each morning when they woke up. I still never knew what the elf was actually doing or why. I wanted to participate but I just never took the time to get the book and see how it worked.
Well, lucky me! On Saturday, I attended an Elf on the Shelf Birthday Tradition Party hosted by Nadia, founder of Niche Parent at A Piece of Cake here in Atlanta. The co-creator, Chanda A. Bell was so transparent with the bloggers. She shared how started with her credit cards and the growing pains it took to get where she is now (millions sold). I learned the story of the Elf on the Shelf which almost made me wish Christmas was around the corner.
What’s new with the Elf? The Elf makes people smile from Thanksgiving until Christmas but now you can see more of the Elf on your birthday! The Elf on the Shelf: A Birthday Tradition is here. What’s the catch? It’s for 24 hours only! The next birthday in my house is in December, so I need to plan this thing out.
The Elf on the Shelf®: A Birthday Tradition tells the little-known story of the North Pole birthday tradition, and includes special instructions for families to invite their scout elf for a birthday visit. In Santa’s Christmas village, the scout elves have their own special way of celebrating birthdays—a tradition that goes back thousands of years. Now, at the request of children around the world, Santa has given special permission for his scout elves to share that tradition with the families who love them. But a scout elf cannot come to a birthday party unless it is invited. The Elf on the Shelf birthday book also includes a special Claus Couture Collection® birthday outfit just for the scout elf.
