Friday, May 9th will be a special day for me! One reason being, it was my brother’s 30th birthday and I can’t believe my baby brother is the big 3-0! It will always be special to me because my baby boy took his first real steps alone and got his first official haircut. I got a 2 for 1 Friday!
If you remember my post a couple of months back, I wrote about Emory being 13 months and still not walking. I was overwhelmed with the support from so many mothers who reassured me that “It’s all in his own timing!”. Well on May 11, he turned 15 months and took even more steps towards me. That was the BEST MOTHERS DAY GIFT EVER! What’s so funny is when he took his first steps Friday night, my daughter and I started jumping and screaming like we had won the lottery! It made Emory fall and stare at us like, “What’s going on here?” We screamed, hugged each other, hugged him and screamed some more. Then we busted out laughing at how crazy we were acting. Of course we started saying, “Do it again! Do it again Big Boy!” And he did!
The Haircut: My son has beautiful curls and I didn’t want them all off, but wanted his fro trimmed down just a little. I still wanted to see his curls poppin’. I think my husband cut a wee bit too much off OR I just need to get used to his face with such short hair. I think he is too young to be faded with the clippers so we agreed on an even cut all the way around.
His curls are still poppin’ too. It’s amazing how much my youngest son and oldest look just alike in all the baby pictures. It looks like the same child! I will have to write a post about this one day. You can see a full frontal picture with his haircut in the first picture above. That’s was Mother’s Day!! I hope your Mother’s Day was wonderful!
