I have not straightened my hair since January 5th, 2013. My baby shower. I wanted to do it June, but it was just too hot. Well today is my anniversary and I wanted to surpise my husband with straight hair > he likes it like that!. It’s been 15 months since I cut all my hair off to start over and I am amazed at the growth.
Honestly, since my 3rd child was born in February I haven’t been taken the best care of my hair. I have not been treating it badly, but I just haven’t been given it the attention I used to. I think if I had, it would even be longer today. I have continued taking my pre-natal vitamins and recently ordered some new hair vitamins. I can’t remember the name. I will write about it when they come in the mail.
I am very thankful that I did not have alot of hair shedding after baby 3#. It’s been 7 months now and I think what was going to come out has come and gone! Thank ya Jesus, because I have heard horror stories!!The middle set of pictures were taken last night when I came home from the stylist. The bottom set is from this morning, after I bumped it mixed with a little humidity!
What is important to RETAIN LENGTH?
Protective Styling – I do not comb my hair everyday. I try to do styles that can last 2-3 days; twist, updos, braids and more. When you are not combing your hair everyday, you are not pulling on it. Therefore, less hair comes out.
Moisterize often – Anything that is not meant to be dry usually cracks, breaks or looks old and dull. That’s what happens when you don’t moisterize. You hair will break OFF OFTEN. There are MILLIONS (at least it seems like it now) of moisterizers on the market for you to use on your hair. And many natural oil options. Find what works best for you hair.
Eat Healthy – What you put in your system shows on your skin and through your hair. Eat your fruit and veggies!!
When I get these hair vitamins, I will let you know how that goes. The creator of these vitamins hair is DOWN HER BACK!!
