The Superbowl is over but “Oh what a great game & halftime show it was!” Not only was I prepared for the game, but thanks to Macy’s Culinary Council Chef Marcus Samuelsson (Season 2 winner on Bravo’s Top Chef Masters) I was prepared with new creative dishes to serve!
Saturday afternoon, I had the pleasure of attending a cooking tutorial session hosted by Chef Marcus Samuelsson. It was held at Macy’s in Lenox Mall. He demonstrated step by step how to make 3 tasty appetizers for the the Superbowl or any occasion:
Crab Cakes with Chipotle Mayo and Citrus Salad
Dirty Rice & Shrimp
Fried Yardbird with Hot Sauce & Shake
In this picture, I am enjoying the Crab Cakes with Chipotle Mayo and Citrus Salad! It was spicy, but I liked it! I wanted more but, I didn’t want to be greedy. Luckily, they gave us all a booklet with the actual recipes and how to make it at home. I am sure this will be a hit with my family and friends next time we entertain.

As you can see there was standing room only for this event! We were all able to sample every dish in addition to asking question throughout the demonstration. He even signed a few autographs when it was over! I really like that the dishes were different from you regular Superbowl Wings and Nachos. Variety is always a good thing. I hope Macy’s and Chef Marcus do more of these great demonstrations in the future!

February 4, 2013 at 6:24 pmOkay, that vinaigrette sounds divine! I’m totally going to try this one out on the kiddos. Glad you had a blast; next time I’m in NY, I’m going to try to make it to his restaurant in Harlem. Been dreaming about that one…

I’m never arriving “on time” for a Macy’s event again. Definitely 30 minutes early 😉
