Last week my husband and I had the pleasure of attending Cirque Du Soleil (Circus of the Sun). It was amazing. Simply amazing. I have always wanted to see this show. I have been to Vegas twice and was not able to get tickets. And even here in Atlanta, you always see the big blue and yellow tents a couple times a year and wonder what are they doing inside. I always say, “One day, I am going!” Well, be careful what you say because words have a way of manifesting themselves.
We were given the opportunity to see the show and sit right in the center of the show. I could not stop looking at all the detail in the costumes, the routines and of course the acrobatics! I seriously held my breath during a few of the performances.
What I learned was that Cirque du Soleil is not just one show. It’s many shows that change with the season, time of year or even what’s going on in the world. They have different themes which keeps the show interesting. The word “totem” contains the idea of the order of species. Totem traces the fascinating journey of the human species from it’s original amphibian state to its ultimate desire to fly. The characters evolve on a stage evoking a giant turtle, the symbol of origin for many ancient civilizations. This cast comprises of 53 artist from 18 countries.
I give this show two thumbs up! I would love to see more shows for sure. If you are in Atlanta, click HERE for more information.
