You know that I like to blog about things that allow you (& me) to Live Smart, Simple & Stylish. Well, giving back is definitely Living Smart. I met the creator & found of Atlanta Diaper Relief, Kia Morgan Smith earlier this year when I attended her diaper drive at Nancy’s Pizza. I also did Karaoke for the first time, but that’s a different post! (click the diaper drive link above to see the video).
After getting to know Kia and learning more about her organization, I find it amazing how many people she has truly blessed. They have partnered with many great WELL KNOWN organizations through Diaper Drives and giveaways to help when the need arises. With Christmas season now less than 60 days away, ATL Diaper Relief is giving away HUNDREDS of new toys and diapers during their TOY & DIAPER Holiday Party! If you are a family in need please call 770-310-0046 to sign up for more information on the date & location.
Here is a quick overview of what they do:
Atlanta Diaper bank is the FIRST diaper bank in the metro Atlanta area solely dedicated to diaper distribution only.
We ensure that families living in poverty have an adequate supply of diapers for their infants and toddlers. Not enough is being done to help these families with this specific need. We serve families in
Fulton and Douglas counties and have future plans of expanding to other metro area counties.
We aim to raise community awareness that “basic human needs” include diapers and that these needs are not being met for children living in poverty; and we serve as advocates for policy reform so that diapers are included in the definition of and provision for the “basic human needs” of families
We collect new and wrapped diapers through various local Diaper Drives and distribute them to Douglas and Fulton County families in need through our partner agencies.
We are currently accepting applications from agencies that want to become a part of our Diaper Distribution Network. Through our network we deliver diapers to families.
We are currently looking for churches, daycare centers or any agency interested in hosting a Diaper Drive for us! Please send us an email at [email protected] if interested and find out about how you can help!
How do you give back?
