Alcohol that taste like Water! Parents BEWARE!

My husband was online a few weeks ago and what he was reading was kind of disturbing. Maybe I am over exaggerating but I immediately thought of the negative things that could happen from a parents perspective.

There is a new Alcohol coming to market called Air (Alcohol Inspired Refresher). This alcohol is odorless, colorless and tasteless. Alcoholic beverage ‘Air’ is made from clear malt and sparkling water that is purposely created to taste like nothing. The canned drink contains 4% ABV, which is equivalent to a standard beer, but the taste is nearly completely masked by the carbonated water.

Air also comes with hints of subtle flavors like berry, citrus, and club soda. The drink hopes to replace similar versatile alcoholic beverages like vodka soda. Air hopes to launch in major West coast cities in the U.S., with plans to expand to other cities. One can retails for $1.74, while a 4-pack is $6.99.

Does anyone else see the problem here? I immediately thought about teenagers who want to drink (and we all for the most part go through that stage, whether High School or College) and can now creatively drink WATER, and if their parents don’t know this product is on the market….. it just equals trouble. What about the teen or college girls that could be open targets for guys offering them WATER (of Soda) with no clue they are getting drunk! I just don’t see the good in this product at all. I was reading the comments on another site and one person said, “Where was this product when I was 16!? I had to get it old fashion way!” WHAT!!  This just makes me nervous, for my children and other unsuspecting people that could possibly be taken advantage of.

What are your thoughts?

This is disturbing and I don’t like it at all. Like you said teenagers could be given this by someone and won’t even know they were drinking. Wow the things they come up with just to make a buck not thinking that this could hurt people smh

I agree this is quite scary and disturbing. This a whole world of trouble in a can. People ccan trick people who don’t even drink at all. I don’t even want to think about the parenting aspect.

I’m just seeing this! W-O-W! I agree and see the problem with this. Having a flavorless alcoholic bev can cause problems. Yeah it sounds cool at first until we start to understand the dangers that this product will cause to many. I always worry about my nieces in college and now here is something to add to that.
