On August 29, 2013, I wrote a blog post called, What are you doing with the Dash. Who would have thought that one year later on August 29, 2014, it would physically be my last day on the job I was ready to leave months prior.
I joined a Facebook group called Pushing Lovely earlier this year as well. It’s a wonderful group of women that consistently push each other to basically, “Be great”. One day, one of the members came up with the idea to make money off of existing content we already have. I honestly didn’t know what content to use. I sat alone for a while and thought about something that I wanted to concentrate on in 2015, and that was really following a specific dream of mine.
That dream is to start a charity. My family legacy.
I also want to be surrounded by other individuals that are willing to go for their dreams and desires at the same time. Individuals who push themselves to make these dreams a reality, but also help hold each other accountable for their actions. I want to be surrounded by people I can motivate and inspire and in return receive the exact same thing.
It came to me. The Dash!
I remember my post about the Dash, and it was like an Oprah AHA moment happened for me.
- The book One Month to Live was on my kitchen floor when I didn’t put it there. (I hadn’t seen it in months).
- I was able to secure the domain name for my charity, free hosting for a year, and get someone to build the foundation of the site.
- I was pushed to write an eBook, that brought all of these emotions of making my personal dreams come true to the surface faster.
The thing is, I am always thinking of my dreams. I am always wondering how to make them happen. I am also wondering if they will ever come true. If I’m honest, I have a lot of cool things happen to me, but they aren’t actually a dream come true (if you understand that).
What are some of my actual dreams:
- My charity up, fully functioning and changing lives.
- My dream job, media correspondent.
- A home without a mortgage.
- To work for myself.
These aren’t all the things I dream about, but they are pretty close to the top.
What is the Dream Dashers Challenge:
We were born in 19XX dash 20xx. What are you doing with the time in between your birth and death? You are given a certain amount of time, and you really should make the best of it.

I let at least a dozen people review this book before it was ready to be downloaded and here are some of the things they had to say:
Bernetta, this e-book is nothing less than awesome! I am not exaggerating or just saying it to be nice, but this really is good! In a few short pages, you have provided a LOT of good, worthwhile, substantive, meaningful information and inspiration in each and every page. – Cookie
I re-read your e-book one more time, but this time I had a TOTALLY different perspective from the first time I read it. The “dash” means so much more now, and I’m revisiting my personal plans/vision. Your book is one that truly gives people the opportunity to view things…life…from a whole new perspective. At least that’s what it did for me. – Mrs. Payne
I can’t thank you enough for sharing your book with me. It’s inspiring and easy to follow with resources to help you stay focus and on track. I was just thinking about some of the things I really wanted to do but didn’t plan for it or write it down. I plan to use your book to set things in motion for my 365 day challenge. – Teresa
This ebook was very informative! The suggestions for the websites/tools to assist in the goal making process were great information! After reading your book, I’m thinking of my 2015 goals. One thing that I said I would do and never did was created a vision board. – Trina
I think your concept is great and it’s good that you have the printable as well as other resource sights. – Yvette
Just read you ebook, and I really enjoyed it. It flows nicely. GREAT content makes you really think and look at your life. Love the Cover and quotes are end of page. Printables are a great idea. – Daphne
