LeapTv Party Was A Success – LeapFrog Review

LeapTv_MommyParties

You can’t be a parent and have not heard of LeapFrog. All my children have had some form of Leapfrog educational item over the years and they were lucky again last weekend. Leapfrog has again made advancements in technology for children and sent me, well my children, a new LeapTv to experience.

I let my daughter invite some friends over and it got loud! Real loud!

Before my daughters friends came over, I wanted my two older children to play the LeapTv to get familiar with it.  By the time the girls arrived, my children were running the show. I had to make them share!

LeapTv

LeapTV from LeapFrog gets kids into the action while teaching core skills across a variety of subjects including: reading, mathematics, science and problem solving. It’s designed for kids ages 3-8, the system uses a motion-sensing camera and controller that fits small hands. Audio instruction makes it simple for even the youngest kids to play solo or with a friend!

I think the children enjoyed seeing themselves on the screen the best. It’s like they were TV stars for a moment. They enjoyed the dance games the best. They were able to jump, scream and still learn at the same time while playing the Dance & Learn game. I tried to calm them down, I eventually just gave up and let them play.

My son, who was the oldest in the room actually controlled the start and selected all the games. This game helps them sharpen their reading skills, compound words, alphabet, specifically vocabulary and phonics.

Our children are not allowed to watch TV during the week or play on their tablets. This gaming system is purely learning fun, so this is something we would consider letting them do after their homework is complete. Our LeapTv came with two games; the Leap TV Sports Game included 8 different games – which focused on Math. We call my son the mathematical genius around these parts, so nothing like something new to challenge him.

If you’re looking for a Christmas gift (afflink) or your preschooler, I honestly think this is a winner for all the things I mentioned above. It’s one of those gifts, they will play with on Christmas and many days after.
