Oprah’s Live Your Best Life Tour first stop was in Atlanta, GA and I was so blessed to be in the building. When her tour was first announced, I knew I wanted to be there. I applied to be media and was told I would hear within 48 hours, but those hours came and went.
Actually 3 more days went by and I didn’t hear anything. I just assumed I didn’t get the media passes …. and then *ding* the email came 48 hours before the event! I read the email 3 times to make sure I understood that – I WAS GOING TO SEE OPRAH!
Armed with my trusty camera, I took video footage of the weekends event. I couldn’t show all the fun, but you will surely feel the energy through this video.
There were many take-aways from this weekend but two things have stuck with me:
- What is your intention behind your decision? When you ask yourself what is the real intention of your choices, you will approach things totally different. That makes the outcome more deliberate.
- Be grateful. Gratitude goes a long way. When you are truly grateful for what you have, more will come.
I went to the event alone, but met Aniah in the media line and we became fast friends. We were together both days and you would have thought we had been friends for years. We laughed, chatted and even meditated with Deepak Chopra! *Aniah is in the black*
Oprah, brought her 4 power house speakers with her; Deepak Chopra, Elizabeth Gilbert, Rob Bell & Iyanla Vanzant. Each speaker had similar messages but had a different perspective in their delivery which made every presentation extraordinary.
My favorite speaker was Elizabeth Gilbert, author of Eat.Pray.Love. She was my favorite not because of her style of speaking but because her story blew me away. She had what we aspire to as “the perfect life” but yet she heard the whispers that, “this is not your destiny”. And she walked away from it all. What courage that takes to leave your life when nothing is wrong but really everything is wrong.
Here are more nuggets:
- Everyone can’t be famous, but every can be great!
- There is no life without a Spiritual connection.
- Memorize Invictus Poem: “You are the master of your fate and captain of your soul.”
- Whatever has happened to you, was happening for you!
- When you don’t know what to do, be still.
- Meditate at least 20 minutes a day.
- Pay attention to the whispers.
- Create the highest grandest vision for your life. Then let every step move you in that direction.
Oprah was right behind me!
What am I reading right now?
Oprah’s, What I Know For Sure is playing in my cd player. I have listened to it daily to and from work. I love it. It’s nothing but nuggets and aha’s for me. It show’s Oprah’s growth as she evolved into the woman she is. She openly shares moments that changed her life and the lesson along with it. Read it with it a pen, because they are so many underlineable points.

What I wore:
Just in case I met Oprah, I wanted to look extra cute. But cute on a budget! I found this blue & white polka dot skirt at the Goodwill for $5. I know Oprah loves a pretty skirt. On Saturday, I went for a cute casual look and worked another thrifted outfit for a total of $10.
I had a blast with Oprah & Friends, can’t you tell? Although I didn’t physically meet her, she was 10 feet away from me. I learned somethings, motivated to do others, and of course if nothing else, “Live my best life!”
“The only courage you ever need is the courage to live the life of your dreams.” – Oprah
