Wendy’s Pretzel Bacon CheeseBurger Review – (Video)

wendys burger

Last week I posted this article on facebook that discussed how their new Pretzel Bacon Cheeseburger appears to be on track as the best-selling new product introduction by that burger concept in at least a decade. This story even made Good Morning America, which is where I first saw this story. That is what actually peaked my interest. So, I posted the article on FB and asked my friends if they have tried it. I got mixed reviews but a few “GOOO TRY IT!” I have saw many adds about this burger but had NO interest until it was in the news. What is the hype about this burger? I mean, Wendy’s makes good burgers but GEEEESSH!

Ok, so today was the day. I was alone and on lunch so I stopped by Wendy’s and let my camera roll.

  1. Did I finish this burger? Sure did, that combo was 8 freaking dollars (but I did get a strawberry lemonade)!!
  2. Did I like the Wendy’s Pretzel Bacon Cheeseburger? Yes
  3. Would you order it again in the future? Nope.
  4. Would you recommend it? Nope.

The burger was good. That’s all it was, just good. Not great. Not – go tell all your friends to try it good. Not – this is going to be my go-to burger good either. I have tasted better burgers at Five Guys honestly. Have you ever tried something and although it wasn’t a bad experience, you don’t have to try it anymore. You are satisfied with the fact you tried it at least once. That’s how I feel about this burger. I tried it. I ate 5000 extra calories today (with these fries & strawberry lemonade), and now I have to do extra cardio tonight!

One last thing …. for the record, I believe Wendy’s has GOOD burgers. Out of the 3 big wigs; McDonald’s, Burger King & Wendy’s – I like Wendy’s burgers the best. So although I wouldn’t buy this burger again, I have no problem getting my burger fix with one of their juicy double cheeseburgers.

Have you tried it? What do you think?

Because of your FB post last week, yes I tried the Pretzel Burger on that very same day. Got to agree with you, burger was okay not great. I actually wouldn’t even say it was good. My Pretzel Bun looked like the above pic, I think your Wendy’s “Warmed” there’s a bit too long. LOL
To me bun was a bit dry and too dense, I felt full and blah afterwards and I didnt even eat it all nor the fries.

I am happy you were honest about it. It was good but not great! I won’t be trying it because I am just not a bacon fan anyways. Thanks for sharing!

That bun looked so fake…like a piece of leather or the bun from Mckenzie’s fake kitchen set! Lol. Thanks for being our guinea pig and giving us the 411, but naw i’d pass too. If I wanted a burger I’d probably go to Five Guys. I can’t eat double cheeseburgers at all, no matter where they come from but one thing is for sure you made that burger look juicy! lol

You are too funny with your review right there on the spot! That bun DOES look really dark, I’ve had the pretzel burger and my bun didn’t look like that. I enjoyed it, and I’ll probably order it again when I cheat and sneak some fast food! It has spring greens on it, which I really love as a change from the regular lettuce. Maybe I can get them to trade it out on a regular burger!

You definitely got a burnt bun! Mine did not look like that! It’s just ok to me as well…not ‘Oh I GOTTA have this burger’ type thing. I’ve had it twice and the second time I had them add mayo and it was so much better.

There is a lot of hype with this burger but there is alot of hype with the pretzel bun itself period. I have to say I have indulged and tried this burger out myself. Like you said, it wasn’t all that it was cracked up to be. It just tasted like a regular burger to me. I will say this my bun did not look like yours. They overbaked yours.

Girl, you had me ROLLING with that video. Yeah…that bun looked straight up burnt! I saw the pretzel burger advertised on a billboard and thought “pretzel bun, bacon, and cheese…now that’s a great combination!” But, I wasn’t tempted to try it because I’ve never liked Wendy’s burgers. Now, if Five Guys were to add pretzel buns, I’d be all over it! I might try to just make one at home one day.
