Natural Hair

Big Chop / Hair Growth Update

This is just a quick post about my hair growth. I cut my hair June 2nd. September 2nd made 3 months. I can say, I have had some hair growth. I didn’t measure it, but can tell it’s growing.

June 2nd 2012
I cut it to get my original curl pattern and thickness back.

Sept. 2nd 2012
3 months later, and it is growing back nicely. This was actually a twist out. As you can see, when stretched it comes to the middle of my face. I don’t plan on getting it straightened until 6 months (December) when I get my end clips.

I keep it moisturized, ends protected and my scalp nourished. I am on a growth mission.
I also know that being “with child” will help! 😉

Since this is my first time visiting your blog, let me start by saying CONGRATS on being “with child” 🙂

I LOVE natural hair — I think it’s beautiful and can’t wait to see your growth and what you’re doing style-wise with it as of December!!

BTW, I read your post when you initially cut it and was cracking up about your hubby. My husband is a long hair type of man also (even though he’s bald — how much sense does that make?? haha) and he was the same way when I went and had mine — which was almost to my butt — chopped up to a Halle Berry length! It’s important to make sure that we, as women, are doing what we need to do to be happy with ourselves and it’s great to have husbands who support that, even if it’s not necessarily what THEY want 😉 I was especially LOL at “I saw your potential” … funny!!

The good thing now is that it can grow back healthy, strong, and NATURAL and then your man can start to get his long haired wifey back!

      1) Water for moisture
The following I use to seal it in and nourish the scalp
      2) Jamaican Castor Oil
      3) My Body Butter Mix
