Girls Who Rule the World Mentoring Weekend – Steve Harvey Foundation

Do you have a daughter, sister, niece or friend who could really use a life changing weekend like this? A dear friend emailed this flyer to me and I went into research mode. I have always wanted to volunteer my time and mentor young girls. And even though I am not working directly with The Steve Harvey Foundation, I think what they are doing is WONDERFUL. I would love to get involved in some way. Even if its not with their organization, it’s time to give back in some form. My mind is spinning now!

ABOUT THE MENTORING WEEKEND Girls Who Rule the World Mentoring Weekend is a three-day two-night program designed by Marjorie Harvey, President, The Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation, to enhance the development of young girls and provide a forum to expose them to the benefits and the importance of positive self image, responsible personal conduct, respect for self and others via educational achievement, cultural enrichment and mentoring.

One hundred young women are pre-selected to attend the weekend of mentoring. The weekend leadership is comprised of trusted women business and community leaders that will provide wisdom & resources that will help guide girls through the importance of financial literacy, balanced nutrition, proper etiquette, positive self-esteem and professional and educational development.

The goal of the Girls Who Rule The World Mentoring Weekend is to empower young women to pursue excellence in every area of their lives.

The Girls Who Rule The World Mentoring Weekend is currently held in Atlanta, GA, and is coming soon to the Tri-State Area (New York, New Jersey, Conneticut).

This definitely sounds like a wonderful program and I think it’s awesome that you are inspired to want to contribute in some way. Volunteering is so fulfilling, especially if it helps to better the life of others.
