Style Fashionista & Entrepreneur of the day! Shatavia Amey
Shatavia Amey is my Style Fashionista / Entrepreneur of the day! I met Shatavia at church yeaaaarrrs ago and she has always inspired me to do better! Let’s first start with Style – Shatavia always looks stylish and polished! I have never seen her have a bad day. On these two pictures she is mixing color with simplicity. I love both looks! They are great for a lunch, church, outing with the girls, or just a date with your favorite person! Now on to the business side of things. By trade Shatavia is an educator. She has a B.S. in Political Science and a M.E.d in Curriculum Instruction. For the past 7 years, she has worked as an educator & change agent to improve the overall goal & misson of DeKalb Country School System. In 2009, she was titled Teacher of the Year and later went on to receive the prestigious educational honor of Overall Dekalb County Middle School Teacher of the Year. As a result of her honors, Ms. Amey was chosen as the co-chair of the Teacher Advisory Steering Committee and was also recognized by the Secretary of the State as an Outstanding Georgia Citizen.
In 2011, she started Young Masterminds of Atlanta with her best friend Achie McEachern. YMAtlanta is dedicated to the development and empowerment of today’s youth! Their premier summer success enrichment program was built on the idea that every individual was born with innate talents and abilities. At YMA, they like to refer to those extraordinary gifts as individuals “inner mastermind.” Their age specific curriculum and uniquely themed activies have been carefully developed to promote and encourage the discovery and development of those gifts. I really want to put my child in their program but right now we are in two different cities. As soon as they come near me, we are there! They are a registered 501c3 organization and if you are interested in their summer camp or after school program experience please visit http://www.ymatlanta.org/.
